NJSEA Sports Complex Facilities Continue to top world rankings for concerts and family shows in 2009

The 2009 year-end concert and entertainment rankings are out for stadium and arena facilities world-wide and once again the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority managed buildings, Giants Stadium and the IZOD Center are global leaders finishing first and twelfth respectively out of all venues worldwide.

Industry publication VENUES TODAY released their 2009 rankings showing Giants Stadium again dominating the concert business worldwide with both gross sales and attendance more than doubling the next highest building (see attached chart).

Additionally the IZOD Center continued its tradition of strong showings ranking seventh in the United States.

“Over the years the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority has built a concert and family show business that is the envy of the industry,” state NJSEA President and CEO Dennis Robinson.  “With combined grosses of over $80 million and attendance of 1.2 million in 2009 East Rutherford New Jersey is truly at the epicenter of the entertainment world”.

“The great events of the Meadowlands Sports Complex mean not only countless days and nights of great entertainment for music and family entertainment customers, but tens of millions of dollars annually for the taxpayers. We are extremely proud of the continuing performance of NJSEA facilities, “concluded NJSEA Chairman Carl Goldberg.
