The Bergen County Audubon Society (BCAS) leads two-hour nature walks on the first Sunday and third Tuesday of every month. Bring binoculars, bug spray and a sense of wonder. Moth Night

Moth expert Elena Tartaglia will discuss the importance of moths, the amazing, lesser-known cousins of butterflies. You’ll gain a new perspective on these misunderstood creatures and how they benefit the environment. Then go into the park where we’ll be attracting moths using industrial lights and sugar bait. We’ll be looking for Pearly wood nymphs, Wavy lined emeralds and Rosy maple moths, among others. This event includes activities for kids and adults. Moth night is co-sponsored by NJSEA, Friends of the East Brunswick Environmental Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society. To register click here.

9th Annual Butterfly Day

Butterfly Day at the Meadowlands is back! Enjoy butterfly walks, talks, onsite experts to help identify the various butterflies and FREE kids activities including a Scavenger Hunt, Face Painting, Butterfly costume contest (12 and under) and crafts.
