He leads NJSEA’s significant efforts to support sports and other international events throughout New Jersey, including operational responsibilities as the land owner for the Monmouth Park Racetrack and the MetLife Sports Complex, which is home to MetLife Stadium, the American Dream entertainment and shopping center, and the Meadowlands Racetrack. He also oversees NJSEA’s functions as the regional planning and zoning agency and in upholding a three-fold mandate to provide for orderly development of the region, provide facilities for sanitary disposal of solid waste, and to protect the delicate balance of nature.
First serving as the Authority’s Chief of Staff, Nick joined the NJSEA in 2023. In that role, he spearheaded all areas of the Authority’s mission on behalf of the President, including Authority efforts to support the ultimately successful bid to host the world’s largest sporting event—the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final.
Immediately prior to his time with NJSEA, Nick developed and executed government relations and communication strategies at a leading public affairs firm. Nick also spent eight years as the Chief of Staff to New Jersey Senator Joe Lagana, starting in 2014, when Lagana was in the General Assembly. From 2018 through 2022, Nick helped operate the joint 38th District Office, shared by Senator Lagana, Assemblywoman Lisa Swain and Assemblyman Chris Tully.
Nick worked with stakeholders of all kinds and helped Lagana pass bills to legalize and regulate ridesharing, increase tax credits for working families, reduce “doctor shopping” through establishment of the Prescription Monitoring Program, and mandate ignition interlock devices for certain offenses to reduce drunk driver recidivism. He has also worked on various political campaigns.
