Co-hosted by the Bergen County Audubon Society and the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority
Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023 (rain date Sunday, Jan. 22)
River Barge Park, 260 Outwater Lane, Carlstadt
As recently as 20 years ago, seeing a Bald Eagle in the Meadowlands was a rare event. The eagles have made a remarkable comeback in part due to the State’s efforts, the endangered species act, the clean water act and the removal of DDT in the environment. Bald Eagles have successfully nested in the Meadowlands these past two years – emblematic of a healthier environment and a cleaner Hackensack River.
The day will include walks, information tables (inside) and refreshments. There will also be a kid’s eagle art contest-bring eagle artwork, win a prize.
