With science as its core field of study, the Meadowlands Environment Center scouting program promotes hands-on, experiential learning and emphasizes activities that correlate to current badges and awards. Scouts are engaged in topics as diverse as astronomy and salt marsh ecology through activities like stargazing through a telescope and dip netting to catch live animals such as killifish and grass shrimp. Programs are available for all age groups, from Tiger Cubs to Boy Scouts and Daisies to Ambassador Girl Scouts. We also offer service project opportunities for older scouts upon request.
